User Preferences

This dialog box allows you to specify your preferences. For example, the fonts to use, the colors of the source and target edit boxes, whether to load the last TM used in the previous session, etc.

Options Tab

When starting

Load automatically the last TM used in the previous session -- Select this option to load the last TM that was opened during your previous session.

Do not load any TM -- Select this option to start a session with no TM pre-loaded.

Ask the user if the last TM used should be loaded -- Select this option to be asked when Olifant starts whether you want to load the last TM that was opened during your previous session.

Miscellaneous

Keep a backup copy of the file -- Set this option to create a backup copy of the previous existing file each time you save the new one from Olifant. The copy is renamed with the same name and a ".bak" extension.

Save display information in TMX files -- Set this option to save the display information of the fields when saving to a TMX file. When exporting to TMX, this option is available in the TMX Export Options dialog box. The display information are the settings you have in the Fields Settings dialog box, they are saved in a x-olf-display property in the <header> element of the TMX file. This property can be removed or tempered with without affecting the integrity of the data in the file.

Update ChgDate and ChgUser fields -- Set this option to update the ChgDate and ChgUser fields of a given entry when a modification is made to the source or target text of that entry. The field ChgUser is updated only if there is a field ChgDate. The ChgUser field is updated with the value defined in the user name edit box below.

User name -- Enter a user name. This is the identifier that will be used for field such as ChgUser or CreUser. If no user name is defined when the application starting, Olifant will try to get one from the system environment, if it fails it will prompt you to enter one.

Display Tab

Use Default Settings -- Click this button to reset the display settings to their original defaults.

Grid

Text Color -- Click this button to select the color of the text used in the grid.

Back Color 1 -- Click this button to select the background color of the first and odd rows in the grid.

Back Color 2 -- Click this button to select the background color of the second and even rows in the grid.

Font -- Click this button to select the font of the text used in the grid.

Source edit box

Text Color -- Click this button to select the color of the text used in the source edit box.

Back Color -- Click this button to select the background color of the source edit box.

Font -- Click this button to select the font of the text used in the source edit box.

Target edit box

Text Color -- Click this button to select the color of the text used in the target edit box.

Back Color -- Click this button to select the background color of the target edit box.

Font -- Click this button to select the font of the text used in the target edit box. Note that the font specified for the target edit box are also used in the edit box for extra fields and in a few other places.

Notes

Text Color -- Click this button to select the color of the text used in the Notes window.

Back Color -- Click this button to select the background color of the in Notes window.

Font -- Click this button to select the font of the text used in the Notes window.
