File Properties

This dialog box allows you to specify the filter settings and the encoding properties of each input file.

To open this dialog box, select the Properties command from the Input menu (or press Alt+Enter, or double-click on the Filter Settings entry in the grid, or by pressing Space in the input list).

Format and Filter Tab

This tab allows you to select the filter settings that is associated with the input files selected when the dialog box was called. Any default settings are shown between angle-brackets in the input file lists (e.g. "<okf_po>"), while the settings that have been made manually are shown without angle-brackets (e.g. "okf_po#myParams").

Note:

The default settings are set according the format of the files. You can change these associations or defined new ones in the Formats.xml configuration file located in the Okapi Shared folder (usually C:\Program Files\Okapi\Shared)

File format -- Select the file format for the selected file.

Filter settings -- This box displays the current filter settings string associated with the selected file. If the option Use the default settings associated with the current file format is set you can use the browse button to selected a parameters file directly.

Use the default settings associated with the current file format -- Set this option to automatically select the default filter settings associated with the file format currently selected.

Filter -- Select the filter to use for the selected file. The selection is done automatically if you have set the option Use the default settings associated with the current file format.

Variant -- Select the variant to use for the selected file. The selection is done automatically if you have set the option Use the default settings associated with the current file format.

Parameters file -- Select the parameters file to use for the selected file. The selection is done automatically if you have set the option Use the default settings associated with the current file format.

Edit -- Click this button to modify the current parameters file. This command is enabled only if the option Use the default settings associated with the current file format is not set, if parameters files are supported by the selected filter, and if the file is not a pre-defined system parameters file.

More -- Click this button to access more command to apply on the parameters file:

Create New | In User Parameters Folder -- Select this command to create a new parameters file in the User Parameters folder. The new file becomes the current one.

Create New | In Project Parameters Folder -- Select this command to create a new parameters file in the Project Parameters folder. The new file becomes the current one.

Create New | In System Parameters Folder -- Select this command to create a new parameters file in the System Parameters folder. The new file becomes the current one. Note that this folder is normally reserved for pre-defined parameters files. Users should create their parameters files in the User or the Project Parameters folders

Copy | To User Parameters Folder -- Select this command to copy the current parameters file to the User Parameters folder. The new file becomes the current one.

Copy | To Project Parameters Folder -- Select this command to copy the current parameters file to the Project Parameters folder. The new file becomes the current one.

Move | To User Parameters Folder -- Select this command to move the current parameters file to the User Parameters folder. The moved file becomes the current one.

Move | To Project Parameters Folder -- Select this command to move the current parameters file to the Project Parameters folder. The moved file becomes the current one.

Delete -- Select this command to delete the current parameters file.

Rename -- Select this command to rename the current parameters file.

Refresh List -- Select this command to refresh the list of filter settings and parameters. Use this when you have created, moved or deleted parameters files manually and want to see the changes in the dialog box.

Filter Help -- Click this button to open the help topic related to the filter currently selected.

Encodings Tab

Input encoding -- Enter the name of the input encoding to use with the selected file. Use "<Default>" to use the default project input encoding (defined in the Options tab of the main window). If you have selected several files and they are currently set to different input encodings the two fields for the Input encoding will be blank.

Output encoding -- Enter the name of the output encoding to use with the selected file. Use "<Default>" to use the default project output encoding (defined in the Options tab of the main window). If you have selected several files and they are currently set to different output encodings the two fields for the Output encoding will be blank.
